No Flag for This

It was morning
like the rest
until the silence
broke with death

Not a war
but an ambush
not a battle
just a crush
Of lives asleep
of doors unlocked
Of joy turned pain
and time that stopped

No flag for this
no truth inside
No cause can clean
the blood from lies
No flag for this
no right, no pride
Just lives erased —
and tears that hide

They had names
they had plans
They held phones
in shaking hands
A birthday cake
a song rehearsed
Now ashes fall
on soil cursed

No flag for this
no freedom call
You can’t build peace
by watching fall
No flag for this
no shield, no grace
Just mothers lost —
and one more face

If freedom is the dream you claim
then why are children bound in chains?
You speak of land
but bury souls
You carve a wound
you’ll never hold

No flag for this
no cause, no name
Just silence scorched
by brutal flame
No flag, no song
no righteous fists —
Just stolen time...
No flag for this

They had names.
They still do.
Bring them home.
Let them through.
No flag...
for this.
