Forgot to Talk

Screens are glowing
Hearts are dim
We scroll through life
On a digital whim

Messages fly
But voices fade
We lost the warmth
That humans made

Side by side
But worlds apart
We text instead
Of speaking heart

We forgot to talk
We forgot to hear
We forgot the love
That brought us near

We forgot to see
Who’s standing here
We forgot to talk
But we can still come near

Families dine
In silent rooms
Faces lit
By neon moons

Friends sit close
But miles away
Their words are typed
Not meant to stay

A thousand posts
A million eyes
But no one hears
The quiet cries

We forgot to talk
We forgot to hear
We forgot the love
That brought us near

We forgot to see
Who’s standing here
We forgot to talk
But we can still come near

Let’s put the phones down
Look around
There’s beauty here
On common ground

No one’s no one
We’re all the same
Each voice a soul
Each heart a flame

We forgot to talk
We forgot to hear
We forgot the love
That brought us near

We forgot to see
Who’s standing here
We forgot to talk
But we can still come near

We can still come near
Just talk
And hear

We forgot to talk
We forgot to hear
We forgot the love
That brought us near
