Inspiriert vom Aufstieg und Fall Sauls und der Einführung des Königtums. Der Song beginnt mit einem nachvollziehbaren Wunsch: Ordnung, Führung, Sicherheit.

Was als Hoffnung beginnt, wird langsam zu Kontrolle. Entscheidend ist nicht der Aufstieg, sondern die unbemerkte Veränderung danach. Grenzen verschwimmen. Entscheidungen werden gerechtfertigt. Und es entsteht etwas, das nie beabsichtigt war. Der Song ist keine Anklage, sondern eine Beobachtung: Macht verändert nicht nur die, die sie haben, sondern auch die, die sie hinnehmen. „Kings rising, kings falling“ steht für einen Kreislauf, der über einzelne Menschen hinaus weitergeht.
