Aus Faith, Song 2 von 6

Don’t Look Away

Inspiriert vom Gleichnis vom barmherzigen Samariter. Der Song überträgt die Geschichte in die Gegenwart, in eine Welt, in der wir ständig Leid sehen, es aber selten wirklich wahrnehmen. Im Mittelpunkt steht nicht die Hilfe, sondern der Moment davor: der innere Konflikt zwischen Wissen und Handeln. Wir sehen es. Wir wissen es. Und trotzdem gehen wir weiter. Der Song moralisiert nicht, er stellt eine Frage, der man nicht ausweichen kann: Was tust du, wenn du es gesehen hast?

Songtext

There’s a man down on the sidewalk
No one stops
They just pass by
Neon flickers in the distance

No one meets him
Eye to eye
Phones are glowing in the darkness
Fingers scrolling through the pain

Another story
Another headline
Gone before it leaves a stain

We see it
We know it
We move on anyway

Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away

Different faces
Different languages
Different sides
Of every line

We build walls
Inside our thinking
Call it truth
But we divide

We decide
Who’s worth our mercy
Based on where
They stand or fall

But compassion has no borders
It was never
Ours at all
We feel it
We hide it
But it’s still there underneath

Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away

What if it was you
On the ground

What if no one
Turned around

Would you stay
Or walk away

You saw it
You know it

Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away
Don’t look away

You saw it
You know it
Don’t look away

Stay this time
Don’t look away

Don’t walk by
Don’t look away
Be the one

Don’t look away
